ASUS hits back with their new slim external DVD writer called the ‘Extreme Slim External DVD-RW Drive’. Measuring just 14mm thick, this slim drive features a brushed aluminum finish, a USB 2.0 connection interface, a 1MB of buffer memory and is capable of providing write speeds of up to 8x for DVD-R/+R/+RW, 6x for DVD-RW and DVD-R/+R DL, 5x for DVD-RAM, 24x for CD-R and 16x for CD-RW. Pricing and availability are still unknown at the moment.
